Licensed Independent Social Worker

Hi, I’m Kelsey.

I am passionate about partnering with and witnessing my clients gain greater compassion and understanding for who they are, achieve new perspectives and qualities, and heal what is keeping them from living meaningful, courageous and fulfilling lives.

I am a licensed independent social worker (LISW) in the state of Iowa. I received my training from the University of Iowa and Florida State University. I have additional training in Internal Family Systems Therapy (Level 2 Trained) and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I am a mom to two precious kids and fur babies - Alice the dog and Charlie the cat. I have an insatiable appetite for learning and spend my time reading, researching, attending trainings, and podcast listening. I also have a deep love for nature, being around water, playing board games and video games with friends, and cozying up on my couch for some R&R. I too have found myself on a therapist’s couch before, and I know how scary and exciting this experience can be. I want you to know you are not alone. I can’t wait to meet you and know your story.

My Approach

I am a down-to-earth, authentic, and relational therapist. My approach is an eclectic blend of evidence-based and trauma informed therapeutic modalities grounded in the Internal Family Systems Model, Polyvagal Theory, and the Adaptive Information Processing Model using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, and Somatic approaches. I believe each client is unique and therefore deserves a specialized, client-centered approach to fit your unique personality, goals, and needs.
